About Us

From our home base in Camperdown, we provide 24/7 Mobile Auto Electrical Repairs and Planned Maintenance Services for Trucks and other Commercial Vehicles to fleet operators in the nearby and fast-growing Cato Ridge/Hammarsdale logistics hub, across greater Durban (including the harbour/bayhead area, the Durban South Industrial Basin, Riverhorse Valley, Pinetown, Westmead, and New Germany), in Pietermaritzburg (PMB) and surrounding areas, along the N3 Corridor towards Johannesburg (JHB) as far as Van Reenen, on the KZN South Coast along the N2 as far as Port Edward, and on the North Coast along the N2 as far as Richards Bay.

Additionally, we sell a range of OEM and replacement auto electrical parts to the trade and members of the public from our parts shop in Camperdown.

Our Journey

Springfield Park Auto Electrical Specialists (PTY) Ltd trading as SP Auto-Electrical was founded in 2015.

Originally based in Springfield Park, we later relocated to Cato Ridge to take advantage of the rapidly growing Cato Ridge/Hammarsdale logistical hub and to have easy access to the N3 corridor towards Johannesburg, a very important trucking route.

In April 2023 we are relocating again to bigger and better premises in Camperdown (near Cato Ridge). This property will serves as the home base for our mobile auto electricians and house our auto electrical parts sales operation.

Venishree joined SP Auto-Electrical in 2018 and is well-versed in the auto electrical and mechanical industry, including core skills like locally sourcing stock, costing and repairs.

For seven years (starting in 2005) she worked with her father at his auto electrical business as an all-rounder, managing sales, business, on-call and site repairs.

Thereafter, she spent four years working in sales for an engine and gearbox importer.

In high school, Venishree had little interest in subjects like Home Economics, Art, or Biology – common subject choices for girls at that time. Instead, she moved to George Campbell Technical High school and studied Motor Mechanics, Physics and Technical Drawing.

This complemented well with the practical experience she was gaining by working part-time at her parents’ auto electrical business, learning the art of fixing cars and trucks and repairing starter motors, alternators and wiring.

As a woman in the field, Venishree looks forward to helping expand the scope of work and knowledge and empowering more ladies/girls in the auto electrical industry.
